## 概要

残るのは基礎の連なる浅い谷と、その間にわずかに立つ完全な建物である。完全なものが残ったのは転用されたからで、元老院の議場クリア・ユリアが無傷なのは、六三〇年に教会になったためである。聖なる道サクラ街が谷を貫き、国庫を納めたサトゥルヌス神殿、ヴェスタの巫女の家、ティトゥスとセプティミウス・セウェルスの凱旋門の脇を通る。読むには図面が要る。なければただの石の原である。

## 見どころ

ティトゥスの凱旋門の側から下って歩きたい。凱旋式の向きであり、正面にカピトリーノの丘が来る。上のパラティーノの丘へ登れば、フォロ全体を見渡せる。同じ券に含まれ、人はずっと少ない。クリアは開いており、壁と床が残る唯一のローマの室内として入る価値がある。
