## Overview

Yi had just beaten a Japanese raiding force at Unbong and stopped at his ancestral home on the way back; a stele put up in 1900 by Emperor Gojong marks the spot. The pavilion itself is small and modern in its present form, but the hill it stands on separates the old village from the river and gives the only angle from which the roofscape reads as a whole. A footbridge crosses the road to Imokdae on the next rise.

## Highlights

Climb the steps from the village at sunset, when the roofs turn and the light is behind the mountains. It takes five minutes and costs nothing. Bring the walk together with Jaman Mural Village, immediately behind the hill, which is a hillside of small painted houses and is much quieter than the main street.
