## Overview

Set on the central coast where a river meets the sea, Da Nang has grown from a working port into a city of beach resorts, new bridges and an easy pace. Its My Khe beach runs for miles along the shore, the Marble Mountains rise just south, and the Ba Na Hills resort inland holds the much-photographed Golden Bridge held up by giant stone hands. With a major airport and the World Heritage towns of the centre close by, it is the gateway to the middle of the country.

## Highlights

The beaches of My Khe stretch along the coast, backed by resorts and seafood restaurants, with the marble caves and pagodas of the Marble Mountains nearby. The Dragon Bridge breathes fire on weekend nights, and up in the Ba Na Hills the Golden Bridge and a French-village theme park draw the crowds. Hoi An lies half an hour south, and the Hai Van Pass climbs the coast toward Hue.
