## 概要

寺は一四四八年に建てられ、かつては三百四十キロの金で覆われた高さ十六メートルの立仏を安置していた。一七六七年、ビルマ軍は金を溶かし取るためにこの像を焼き、残った断片は後にバンコクの仏塔に納められた。三基の仏塔は一九五〇年代に修復され、歴史公園で最も写真に撮られる輪郭である。残っているのは配置である。何も立っていない王室寺院の軸を歩くことができる。

## 見どころ

日の出か閉園前の一時間に来たい。煉瓦が橙に染まり、公園は無人である。日中はここでは過酷で、日陰がない。隣接する王宮跡は無料で歩ける。歴史公園はユネスコの登録地で、共通券一枚が六つの寺を含む。買い方としてはそれが賢明である。
