## Overview

In this brief age when King Taksin reunified the country, dress kept to the Ayutthaya tradition as its basis.

## Key garments and style

People still wore the chong kraben and the sabai. The court sought to recover the workshops and weaving skills lost in the war.

## Transition

When the Rattanakosin (Chakri) Kingdom rose in 1782, this tradition passed to the court of the new capital, Bangkok, and later met the age of Westernisation.
