## Overview

In Mycenaean palace culture, textiles and dyes appear in the Linear B records, and dress marked status.

## Key garments and style

Women carried on the Minoan-style flounced skirt and bodice, and men wore a tunic or loincloth. Alongside armour, ornaments and embroidery signalled wealth.

## Transition

After the Bronze Age collapse this courtly dress was lost, giving way to an age of simpler draped clothing.
