## Overview

In the Greek world that Alexander's campaigns spread as far as the East, dress too grew richer under local influences.

## Key garments and style

The basic draped garment was kept, but thin, fine fabric was favoured and an elegant, complex draping of the himation around the body became fashionable; the Tanagra figurines record this refined women's dress.

## Transition

When Rome annexed Greece, this dress mingled with Roman clothing.
